2,100 Butter Lamps Lit and Ngo Molam Prayers Held for the Peace of Souls Lost in the Bhotekoshi Flood

Kathmandu, September 10 (Bhadra 24). A religious prayer ceremony featuring the lighting of 2,100 butter lamps (Chyume) and Ngo Molam prayers and rituals performed by 21 Lama gurus was held on Wednesday, wishing for the peace, liberation, and well-being of all departed souls who lost their lives in the devastating Bhotekoshi flood on Bhadra 10.

The program was jointly organized by Mhendolafole Foundation and Phende Dhachhang Monastery. A large number of devotees, well-wishers, and participants attended the ceremony and joined in prayers for the peace and liberation of the departed souls.

The ceremony was organized to pay heartfelt tribute to all those who lost their lives in the devastating flood and to pray for the departed souls to attain peace and liberation. Prayers were also offered for strength, patience, and comfort for the bereaved families, as well as for the speedy recovery, well-being, and peace of those injured and affected by the disaster.

During the ceremony, 2,100 Chyume butter lamps were lit in memory of the departed souls. Likewise, 21 Lama gurus performed Ngo Molam prayers and religious rituals, offering prayers for peace, liberation, and the spiritual well-being of the departed.

The large gathering of devotees reflected a deep sense of respect and compassion toward those who lost their lives in the Bhotekoshi flood. The glow of thousands of butter lamps and the collective prayers of the Lama gurus created a solemn and spiritual atmosphere at the ceremony.

Held amid grief and loss, the program served as a collective expression of remembrance, compassion, and solidarity with the bereaved families and those affected by the disaster.

Through this religious ceremony, heartfelt prayers were offered for the peace and liberation of all departed souls, while deep condolences were extended to the bereaved families and prayers were offered for the health, well-being, and peace of everyone affected by the Bhotekoshi flood.
