Kathmandu, July 27, 2026 – The official launch ceremony of “Mhendolafole: One Hundred Personalities, One Hundred Stories,” a landmark publication dedicated to preserving the life journeys, experiences, and contributions of distinguished personalities for future generations, was held with great dignity and enthusiasm on Monday at the National Theatre (Rastriya Nachghar), Jamal, Kathmandu.

Organized by the Mhendolafole Foundation, the event brought together an impressive gathering of senior members of the Tamang community, political leaders, writers, journalists, artists, scholars, educators, social workers, representatives of various organizations, and many of the one hundred personalities featured in the book.

The ceremony was hosted by journalist and General Secretary of Nepal Tamang Ghedung, Hiralal Dong, while the welcome address was delivered by Komal Lama, a member of the Mhendolafole Foundation. In her remarks, she welcomed all distinguished guests and highlighted the vision of the Mhendolafole campaign and the book’s contribution to preserving the Tamang language, arts, culture, and history.

Addressing the audience, senior journalist, social campaigner, editor, and interviewer of the book Pratik Tamang Ngysur explained the inspiration behind the publication. He stated that the conversations featured on the Mhendolafole Podcast are far more than ordinary interviews—they are living records of society’s collective memory. Recognizing their long-term historical value, the idea emerged to preserve these remarkable conversations in book form so that the life experiences, struggles, wisdom, and contributions of distinguished individuals could be passed on to future generations. According to him, the publication of this book represents the realization of that vision.

Sunil Lama, President of the Mhendolafole Foundation, emphasized the significance of the publication and reflected on the remarkable journey of Mhendolafole—from a television program to a podcast, and now to a foundation and a published book. He described the book as much more than a compilation of one hundred interviews; it is a lasting historical record that preserves the experiences, struggles, ideas, and contributions of outstanding personalities for future generations.

He also announced that all proceeds from the sale of the book will be invested through the Mhendolafole Foundation in social, educational, and cultural initiatives. These include providing educational support to financially disadvantaged students, expanding the Tamang Database through www.mhendolafole.org, and promoting the preservation and documentation of the Tamang language, culture, history, and identity.

During the program, author, cultural activist, and campaigner Rabindra Tamang emphasized that future guests of the Mhendolafole Podcast should continue to share their authentic life experiences with honesty and responsibility, noting that these conversations are now becoming permanent historical records through publications such as this.

Renowned anthropologist Dr. Mukta Singh Lama praised the initiative, describing the documentation of podcast conversations in book form as a visionary and timely effort. He expressed confidence that the publication would serve as an invaluable source of inspiration, research, and learning for future generations.

Similarly, Sanchu Blon, Senior Vice President of Nepal Tamang Ghedung and a journalist, remarked that bringing together the life stories and experiences of personalities from diverse fields into a single publication is a significant contribution to historical documentation. He noted that the book will become an important reference for researchers, students, and future generations.

“Mhendolafole: One Hundred Personalities, One Hundred Stories” documents the stories and conversations of the first one hundred personalities featured on the Mhendolafole Podcast. More than simply a collection of interviews, the book serves as a permanent archive of the lives, experiences, ideas, and contributions of distinguished individuals. By transforming valuable digital conversations into a printed publication, the Foundation aims to preserve these voices as a lasting source of knowledge, inspiration, research, and cultural identity for generations to come.

The Mhendolafole Foundation also announced that this publication marks only the beginning of a long-term documentation project. Future editions will continue to archive the podcast, with the second volume planned to feature personalities from Episodes 101 to 200.

According to the Foundation, Mhendolafole has evolved beyond being merely a television program or podcast. Today, it stands as a shared cultural movement dedicated to preserving the language, culture, history, and identity of the Tamang community while ensuring that these invaluable stories continue to inspire generations to come.
