Kathmandu — Hon. Tirtha Lama, President of the Nepali Congress Kavre District Committee, former Minister, and Member of the Bagmati Province Assembly, has provided Rs. 50,000 (Fifty Thousand Nepalese Rupees) in financial support to the Mhendolafole Foundation.
The Mhendolafole Foundation has been working primarily to preserve, document, and promote the language, culture, history, education, art, literature, and social identity of the Tamang community. The financial support from Hon. Lama has been provided to further strengthen and enhance the Foundation’s ongoing initiatives.
One of the Foundation’s major ongoing initiatives is the development of the Tamang Database. The database is currently being developed with the objective of systematically collecting, preserving, and documenting important information related to Tamang individuals, history, culture, language, society, and other areas, creating a valuable digital resource for future generations.
The Foundation plans to make the Tamang Database more systematic, comprehensive, and reliable while continuously updating and developing it in the coming years. For this purpose, the Foundation also plans to prioritize collaboration and coordination with individuals, organizations, and stakeholders associated with the Tamang community both within Nepal and abroad.
Alongside its core Tamang community-focused mission, the Mhendolafole Foundation has also been conducting various programs and activities in the education sector. The Foundation aims to continue its educational initiatives and further strengthen them according to the needs and circumstances of the community.
Similarly, as part of its social responsibility, the Foundation has been carrying out various social service activities, including health camps, sanitation and environmental programs, and relief distribution during disasters and emergencies. The Foundation has stated that such initiatives will also continue in the coming days as needed.
The Mhendolafole Foundation is pursuing documentation and digital preservation as a long-term initiative, with the goal of safeguarding the history, identity, and knowledge of the Tamang community and passing them on to future generations.
The Foundation stated that the Rs. 50,000 support from Hon. Tirtha Lama will provide additional encouragement and support for its upcoming initiatives.
